International Day of Forests

In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly designated March 21 as the "International Day of Forests." On this day, special attention is given to the ecological importance of all types of forests and their preservation. Each year, this day is commemorated with tree planting initiatives, regional and international events, as well as informational campaigns in various countries. The main objective of this celebration is to draw the attention of the global community to the necessity of protecting biodiversity, which is subjected to the influence of both natural and anthropogenic factors.
