Absheron National Park

A species of bird belonging to the family of true owls of the order of the owl family of the bird class. It has been recorded mainly in the plains and foothills, and in small numbers in mountainous areas.

Its length is 33-39 cm, its wingspan is 80-95 cm. Its weight varies between 187-700 g. Its body is slender, its legs are long. Its feathers are soft and fluffy. The upper part of the body is usually ochre-red in color, with transverse ashy-gray stripes and numerous small dark stripes and spots.

It is nocturnal. It feeds on small mammals. It breeds at different times of the year. It lays four eggs in a nest in a hollow tree, an old building, or in cracks in a cliff.
