Zangezur National Park
A species of bird of prey belonging to the family of the Falconidae of the order of the Golden Eagle. It is a sedentary species. It nests in the mountains. It is found in flat areas in winter.
The mass of the male individual is 2.8-4.5 kg, the mass of the female is 3.6-6.6 kg. Its body length is 66-90 cm. The length of its wings when spread is 180-234 cm. Its general color is brown, with golden-orange feathers on the back of its neck and on its face.
It settles on rocks and in deciduous forests at altitudes of 1200-3100 m above sea level. It lays 1-2 eggs and incubates for 35-42 days. It feeds the chick in the nest for 70-75 days. It reaches sexual maturity at 4-7 years of age. Its diet consists of birds and mammals weighing up to 5 kg.
