A species of bird belonging to the family of Ducks of the order of Geese of the class of birds. It comes to Azerbaijan for wintering and there is also a migratory population passing through here. The main wintering place is the Caspian Sea and large basins in the plain regions. It usually arrives in December and flies away in February-March.


Its length is 140-160 cm, its wingspan is 205-235 cm. Its weight varies between 8-15 kg. Its color is snow-white. Its beak is black, only the tip is yellow. It holds its neck erect. The yellow part of its beak merges into a triangular black color; the combination of black and yellow colors forms an acute angle.
