Implementation of the Healthy Eating Project among Youth
28.02.2019A project aimed at promoting healthy eating in secondary schools has been launched, initiated by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva.
Within the project, IDEA conducts educational events for high school students in Baku with the goal of promoting a healthy and responsible approach to nutrition. As reported by the IDEA Public Union, this project is being implemented with the support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the Ministry of Education, the Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health, and the Partnership and Coordination Office of the FAO in Azerbaijan.
It is well known that proper and balanced nutrition plays a crucial role in ensuring people's health, especially during their growth and development. It is also important to emphasize the significance of mindful consumption of food in terms of environmental protection and ensuring the well-being of future generations.
The initial presentations took place at the Modern Educational Complex named after Heydar Aliyev and the Elite Gymnasium named after Ilyas Efendiyev. The events were organized in an interactive and engaging format, which generated great interest among the students. They received information about the importance of healthy eating, the harm of unhealthy diets to physical and mental health, as well as about responsible consumption of food in the context of environmental protection.
In recent years, numerous environmental protection projects have been implemented in Azerbaijan under the initiative of Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. IDEA Publi collaborates with international organizations such as UNDP, FAO, UNICEF, and others to implement the Sustainable Development Goals program in Azerbaijan by 2030. Special attention is paid to educating youth about the Sustainable Development Goals and their role in achieving them.
IDEA encourages children to prefer healthy eating over fast food, which can have adverse effects on their health, and calls on parents to be particularly vigilant in this matter for the sake of the health and proper development of their children.
