Under the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union, implementation of a new large-scale project aimed at conserving and restoring the bioresources of Azerbaijan's inland water bodies has begun.

The "Rich Reservoirs" project, conducted jointly by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, is aimed at increasing the natural population of various fish species in lakes and rivers across different regions of the country. This includes the release of hundreds of thousands of various fish fry into the water, raised at industrial and state fish farms, as well as reducing pollution in inland water bodies and conducting activities to promote legal and responsible fishing.

As part of the first event of the "Rich Reservoirs" project, with the participation of representatives from the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, 10,000 trout fry weighing from 50 to 70 grams were released into Lake Nokhurkeshlakh in the Gabala region.
