“Promotion of the Development of Eco-Entrepreneurship Among Azerbaijani Youth”

The project “Promoting the Development of Eco-Entrepreneurship Among Azerbaijani Youth,” aimed at establishing beekeeping farms for young people and young families, has been launched on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.
The project, implemented jointly by the IDEA Public Union, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Employment Agency, and the “ABAD” public legal entity, aims to increase the presence of bees, which are guardians of biodiversity, in our country; to promote the spread of beekeeping as a type of eco-entrepreneurship in the regions of Azerbaijan; to support the production of natural honey; to contribute to improving the material well-being of low-income families; and to ensure youth employment.
Within the framework of the project, 20 young people with a special interest in beekeeping farms have been involved in two-week theoretical and practical trainings on establishing and properly developing a beekeeping farm. The training ensures that the participating youth are fully equipped with the necessary resources and tools for beekeeping and that the conditions required for the effective implementation of the production process are provided.
For two years, young eco-entrepreneurs’ farms will be regularly monitored by specialists, and they will receive necessary guidance to increase the number of hives through natural growth. Once they reach the stage of producing honey competitive in the market economy, it is planned to assist new beekeepers in gaining access to a wide customer base and organizing sales efficiently by exhibiting their products at “ABAD” stands.
It is well known that bees and other pollinators play a crucial role in preserving biodiversity, and beekeeping is considered one of the most environmentally safe and beneficial types of agriculture. Honey bees actively participate in pollinating plants, increasing their productivity and sustainability. Keeping this in mind, the IDEA Public Union, together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, has organized several mass tree-planting campaigns in the country to plant nectar-producing trees in support of beekeeping.
Nature needs bees, and we need nature. Let us increase our care for bees and coexist with them. Where there are bees, there is life!
