Eco Scout Camps

In 2018, IDEA and the Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan (ASA) launched the Eco Scout Camps. Organized as part of IDEA Eco Scout program, the camps aim to cultivate awareness of local and global environmental challenges among the country’s youth, and instill lifelong interest in environmental stewardship and ethics. Around 600 young people aged 18-30, who are pursuing environmental field studies or have experience in related fields, attended the camps. During the camps, participants toured the national parks and learned about species these specially protected areas serve to preserve. With a view to expand young people’s knowledge on Azerbaijan’s rich biodiversity, IDEA plans to organize Eco Scout Camps in other national parks of the country as well.
