“Summer school on the topic ‘Protection of the environment for the sake of present and future generations’”

The opening of the summer school on “Protection of the Environment for Present and Future Generations,” jointly organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign, has taken place.

Within the project, lectures will be delivered over the course of one week to nearly 50 students and graduates of higher education institutions in order to widely promote ideas on the importance of environmental protection, and they will also become acquainted on-site with the work carried out.

Participants of the summer school will receive lectures and take part in excursions on topics such as Azerbaijan’s environmental policy, climate change, measures implemented in the field of environmental protection, household waste management, methodologies for conducting environmental monitoring, protection of the Caspian Sea environment, identification of destructive environmental impacts in formerly occupied territories, and more.

The purpose of the project is to enhance the knowledge and skills of young people in the fields of environment and safety, improve the environmental culture of the younger generation, and involve the public in the joint protection of the environment.
