IDEA Pavilion: A Space for Dialogue and Initiatives- 5,000 visitors

At the Conference, IDEA presented its pavilion as an informational and interactive space showcasing the organization’s environmental projects, strategic priorities, and approaches to sustainability.

The pavilion’s design combined traditional craftsmanship with contemporary sustainability practices. Its centrepiece was a hand-made installation based on həsirçilik, a traditional reed-weaving craft originating from Azerbaijan’s Astara district. The woven elements—produced by women artisans from Musakucha village—were made using natural, locally sourced materials such as reed, rush, and straw, all of which are renewable, biodegradable, and environmentally low-impact. The pavilion also featured the installation

“Infinity,” symbolising the natural life cycle and ecological balance. The installation addressed two of IDEA’s priority themes—air pollution and food waste—highlighting their environmental impacts and promoting responsible consumption and everyday actions to reduce harm.

In addition, the pavilion incorporated 3D-printed furniture produced from recycled plastic, demonstrating IDEA’s interest in innovative, circular solutions. Overall, the IDEA Pavilion illustrated how traditional knowledge, local production, and modern technologies can be integrated to promote sustainable practices and environmentally responsible design at international events.
