IDEA Animal Care Center

ResourceDetailTopImage

IDEA has been involved in efforts to improve animal welfare in the country long before the establishment of

IDEA Animal Care Center (IACC). IDEA Animal Care Center officially opened its doors on 1 March 2017. IACC is equipped with a modern veterinary clinic and other facilities to provide a range of animal care services. While temporarily accommodating some animals that are in desperate need for shelter and care, the Center’s prime focus in addressing the street animal problem is on sterilization, disease prevention, adoptions, responsible pet ownership and humane attitudes towards animals. IACC’s veterinary clinic has facilities for both homeless and owned animals. All medical care for street animals is completely free of charge. The majority of adult street animals brought to the Center get sterilized, vaccinated, ear-tagged and subsequently released back into their original location. The Center’s adoptions section houses homeless dogs and cats, mostly younger animals and those considered to have a higher chance of being adopted. Over the past 9 years, IACC provided veterinary care for thousands of homeless cats and dogs, found homes for hundreds of pets, and organized numerous public awareness events.
