The IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) campaign, initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, announces an international photo contest titled "The Earth Through the Eyes of Children" among children and youth in connection with June 1 – International Children’s Day and June 5 – World Environment Day.

The international photo contest and the festival planned to be held at the end of the contest aim to demonstrate the importance of environmental protection by all generations and to draw general attention to environmental issues worldwide.

The "The Earth Through the Eyes of Children" international photo contest is being conducted on the initiative of the IDEA campaign in close collaboration with world-renowned photographer Reza Deqati, with the support of WPO (World Photography Organization) and the UK’s National Geographic Kids magazine.

Every child and adolescent under the age of 17 can submit a work depicting the theme "I love nature and I am afraid of polluting it."

The submitted photos will be evaluated by an international jury and members of the advisory board. Winners will be awarded valuable prizes and will earn the right to participate in the festival and exhibition to be held in Baku in October 2012.

Additional information about the project can be obtained from the campaign’s official website.
