In the Nizami district of Baku, a tree planting campaign took place.

On April 16, with the participation of the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva, as part of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World," an event to plant trees was held on a vacant lot near the intersection of Mikail Aliyev and Kamil Balakishiev streets in the Nizami district of the capital.

Previously, this area was polluted with construction materials and household waste. At the initiative of the IDEA Public Union and with the participation of volunteers, the area was cleared of waste and reclaimed.

Unfortunately, today in the capital, air pollution occurs due to emissions from motor vehicles, industrial activities, and dust, which are harmful to human health and the environment. Planting forest belts and greening activities positively impact the restoration of ecological balance and improvement of air quality.

The area where a forest belt will be created during the event, which was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, covers about 2 hectares.

During the campaign, 500 Eldar pines, cypresses, thuja, acacias, and olive trees were planted, and landscaping work was carried out. For efficient tree irrigation and water loss prevention in this area, a drip irrigation system is planned to be used.

The IDEA Public Union, regularly organizing such environmental campaigns, draws the attention of the public, especially the younger generation, to the importance of environmental protection and calls on citizens to take joint action to address environmental issues.
