The Restore Greenery Project has Commenced

With the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Executive Greening Farmer's Union of Baku, and the executive authorities of the Nizami district, the IDEA Public Union has launched a tree-planting campaign as part of the Restore Greenery project.

As part of the campaign, trees recognized by the State Expertise Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources as hazardous to the environment have been replaced. Pine, cypress, blueberry, safflower, olive, acacia, and other trees suitable for the climatic conditions of the Absheron and Baku cities will be planted in their place.

Poplar trees, common in the capital, are known for their negative side effects. Trees like the Lombardy Poplar, due to their weak root systems, can easily be damaged and become the cause of accidents. In connection with this, the initial stage of the "Restore Greenery" project started in the Nizami district, where on April 4, more than 100 IDEA volunteers planted 700 Eldar pine trees on Ali Valiyev Street.

Following the successful implementation in the Nizami district, similar actions will be conducted in other districts of Baku.
