Improvement of old yards within "Bizim həyət" (Our Yard) project, initiated by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA founder Leyla Aliyeva, successfully continues bringing joy to the citizens of Baku.

On 27 December 2018, another renovated yard, surrounding multi-story buildings with around 1950 residents, was unveiled at 15, 15A, 15B and 15V Elman Gasimov street in Surakhani district.

The aim of the project is to upgrade yards that need restoration, increase areas of greeneries in the city and create more comfortable living environments for residents.

The 13,000 sq meter yard features a new landscape design, public workout area (155 m²), children's playground (200 m²), football field (300 m²) and 4 gazebos providing comfort to everyone, including people with disabilities. The outdoor sports equipment has been specifically placed to create social fitness experience for people of all ages enabling them to lead active lives.

At the request of residents, façades and entrance areas of buildings have also been renovated. Along with the restoration of the existing greenery, 100 new trees and shrubs have been planted, as well 3000 sq meter lawn has been put in the yard. Additionally, surveillance cameras were placed in the yard to ensure safety of residents.

The new yard in Surakhani became the eleventh yard improved within the project.

"Bizim həyət" project is planned to cover all districts of Baku. Suggestions and requests on the yards that need a renovation like this can be sent to IDEA Public Union.
