Construction of solar power plants in two districts of Baku to finish in May

 

The State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy (ABOEMDA) has launched realization of projects aimed at the development of alternative energy in the districts of Baku.

 

According to the Agency, construction of solar power plant ‘Surahani’ with capacity of 1.5 MW at primary stage and full capacity of 2.8 MW started to its order in Surakhani district capital of Azerbaijan. The plant will be located on an area of 6 hectares. The contractor is the Center for Scientific and Technical Creativity Xəzər. The first phase of the plant project is expected to be commissioned in May.

 

Also, the construction of solar station ‘Pirallahi’ began in the eponymous district of Baku. A plot of 6 hectares was allotted for it. At primary stage the capacity of this plant will be 1.2 MW. The work here was carried out by 30-40%. Besides, this May the Xəzər Centre plans to end construction with commissioning the power plant before the end of 2014.
