IDEA Public Union starts usage of biodegradable bags
IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Public Union led by the Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva has for the first time started usage of biodegradable bags in Azerbaijan.
Unlike ordinary polyethylene bags, biodegradable bags are easily decomposed and mix with soil. Plastic or polyethylene bags remain in soil for hundreds of years, while biodegradable bags mix with soil within a short time and almost do not damage the environment.
Biodegradable bags have been distributed among large supermarkets in Baku.
