Along with numerous tree plantings taking place on the outskirts of Baku these days, large-scale afforestation measures across the country also continue within the Green Marathon campaign. On 14 April 2022, with the help of ecovolunteers, 1650 maple seedlings were planted in the open field of the Alpan forestry under the Guba District Regional Forestry Center. In total, 1000 hectares of unvegetated areas will be the focus of planting, sowing and regeneration efforts during the spring-autumn season.

Green Marathon campaign was carried out in Mushvigabad settlement on 11 April 2022. Jointly run by IDEA and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and at the initiative of Central Bank of Azerbaijan this time, the nation-wide tree planting event was attended by the financial institutions of the country. During the event, around 6000 pine and olive trees were planted on an 8 hectare area.
