Absheron district joined the first nationwide Green Marathon that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On March 18, 2015, the national satellite operator of Azerbaijan - "Azerkosmos" OJSC has held a tree planting action in the framework of "Green Marathon" at the Satellite Control Center. Within the action that was held in Absheron region 100 trees including loester, acacia, willow and pine trees were planted.
