Lankaran district joined the first nationwide Green Marathon that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On November 8, in the scope of First Green Marathon, during the daily tree planting actions held by Executive Body of Lankaran city, 4000 argan trees, oaks, beechs, firs, tuyas, palmas and other kinds of trees were planted in gardens and parks, alleys, along highway roads of the city. The head of the executive body of Lankaran city-Taleh Qarashov, employees of Executive apparat, collectives of enterprises, institutions and organizations, members of the public participated in the action.
On November 15, in the framework of First Green Marathon, during the daily tree planting actions held by Executive Body of Lankaran city, 2000 argan trees, oaks, beechs, firs, tuyas, palmas and other kinds of trees were planted in gardens and parks, alleys, along highway roads of the city.
On November 22, in the framework of First Green Marathon, during the daily tree planting actions held by Executive Body of Lankaran city, 800 argan trees, oaks, beechs, firs, tuyas, palmas and other kinds of trees were planted in gardens and parks, alleys, along highway roads of the city. The head of the executive body of Lankaran city-Taleh Qarashov, employees of Executive apparat, collectives of enterprises, institutions and organizations, members of the public participated in the action.
Within "Green Marathon" 21500 trees, including Sycamore, Eldar pine, cypress, ash, acacia, fir-tree etc. were planted in Lankaran district, between 7 March 2015 and 19 April 2015.
