Samukh district joined the first nationwide Green Marathon project that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On November 12 with the organization of Executive Body of Samukh district, in the scope of “First Green Marathon” generally 1200 trees, including 600 cypress trees and 600 Eldar pines, were planted in Chobanabdalli-Lek motorway in Samukh district. About 500 people participated in the action.
On November 24 with the organization of Executive Body of Samukh district, in the scope of “First Green Marathon” generally 2500 trees, including 1200 cypress trees and 1300 Eldar pines, were planted in in Karayeri settlement-Ziyadli village-Gandja city motorway in Samukh district. About 700 people participated in the action.
On November 29 with the organization of Executive Body of Samukh district, in the scope of “First Green Marathon” generally 2000 trees, including 1000 cypress trees and 1000 Eldar pines, were planted in Samukh city-Hajalli village roadside in Samukh district. About 1500 people participated in the action.
On December 1, with the organization of Executive Body of Samukh district, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, 1840 trees were planted in Samukh city-Chobanabdalli-Lek village roadside.
Within "Green Marathon" 9000 trees, including Sycamore, olive, Eldar pine, cypress, acacia etc. were planted in Samukh district, between 7 March and 4 April.
