Goygol district joined the first nationwide Green Marathon that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On November 1-17, during daily tree planting actions held in the scope of “First Green Marathon” with the organization of Executive Body of Goygol district, , 6800 trees, including 1685 plane trees, 90 oak trees, 650 cypress, 680 Eldar pine, 40 elm, 50 fir-tree, 40 pomegranate, 120 plum, 1085 acacia, 85 apple, 70 pineapple, 395 ligustrum, 390 ash-tree, 40 walnut, 595 pine, 55 willow, 30 olive, 20 cherry were planted on the edge of Gandja-Goygol highway in memorial park for victims of the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War, in the city, settlement and villages of district. In October-November 2014 in the scope of Green Marathon generally 60000 trees, including 40000 ash-trees, 20000 walnut trees were planted in the area of Goygol district by Goygol Forest Protection and Restoration enterprise.
Within "Green Marathon" 19050 trees were planted in Goygol district, between 11 March and 01 April.
