Shirvan city joined the first nationwide Green Marathon project that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On November 8, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, 1600 trees including 1000 pine trees, 600 olive trees were planted in Nakhchivan street, On the way from Nakhchivan street to “Telemexanika” factory and “Araz” factory, in the 1st km Shirvan-Salyan motorway, T.Ismailov street.
On November 12, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in Heydar Aliyev avenue and around administrative building ofSSPF (State Social Protection Fund) and during the action 450 trees were planted
On November 13, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in Khagani street and around the administrative building of Housing and communal services and during the action 400 pine trees were planted.
On November 17, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in G.Shikhbalaoglu street - the territory of complete secondary school No. 2, the territory of Central City Hospital, H.Aliyev avenue – “Shirvan Nəqliyyat” OJSC and during the action 500 trees were planted.
On November 18, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the park named after M.A.Fuzuli,”CTS-Agro” LTD cotton factory and in the territory of complete secondary school No. 9 and during the action 550 trees were planted.
On November 19, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of Shirvan City Driving School, Shirvan Telecommunication institution – the right part of H.Aliyev avenue, in the territory of complete secondary school No. 10 and during the action 800 trees, including 400 pomegranates, 200 fir-trees, 200 pine trees were planted.
On November 20, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of Shirvan “Cənub” Electric Station, complete secondary school No. 14, Child Creativity Centre, Center for Aesthetic Education and in the territory of “Qızılgül” nursery-kindergarten No. 1 and during the action 700 trees, including 200 pomegranates, 200 fir-trees,100 olive trees and 200 pine trees were planted.
On November 21, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of Water canal departament and Ecological Practice Center and during the action generally 450 trees, including 200 pomegranates, 250 olive trees were planted.
On November 22, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of complete secondary school No. 21, Children Youth Sports School of Chess and in the territory of Shirvan city Electrical network and during the action generally 600 trees, including 100 pomegranate trees, 300 olive trees and 200 pine trees were planted.
On November 24, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of complete secondary school No. 1, Shirvan city Vocational Lyceum, “Yasəmən” kindergarten, Shirvan State Economics and Humanitarian College and during the action generally 650 trees, including 100 pomegranate trees, 100 fir-trees and 450 plane trees were planted.
On November 25, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of Shirvan city Post Office and Child Youth Sport school and during the action generally 450 trees, including 250 plane trees and 200 olive trees were planted.
On November 26, with the organization of Executive Body of Shirvan city, in the scope of “First Green Marathon”, tree planting action was held in the territory of complete secondary school No. 9 and general secondary school No. 5 during the action generally 714 trees, including 100 liandras, 504 cypress treesand 110 elms were planted.
In the scope of "Green Marathon" 3529 trees, including kiparis, eldar pine, olive, pomegranate tree and other species were planted in the area of Shirvan city with the organization of the city Executive Body, in March 12-19, 2015.
Within "Green Marathon" 1600 trees, including Eldar pine, fruit and other tree species were planted in Shirvan region, between 29-31 March.
