Gandja city joined the first nationwide Green Marathon project that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On 8-12 November with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city daily ongoing tree planting actions were held in the framework of “I Nationwide green marathon”. During the actions generally 10000 trees were planted including 5000 pine trees, 3500 cypress trees, 1000 liandras and 500 plane trees.
On November 13th, with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city in the scope of “First Nationwide Green Marathon” in the direction of Gandja Aeroport, generally 2000 trees were planted including 1000 pine trees and 1000 plane trees.
On 14th of November with the organization of the Executive Body of Gandja city in the framework of “I Nationwide green marathon” 2000 trees were planted including 1000 pine trees and 1000 liandras in the territory of Heydar Aliyev Park complex.
On 18-19 November at Kechid street in Gandja city and Heydar Aliyev Park Complex tree planting actions were implemented and generally 12500 trees were planted including 10000 pine trees, 1000 liandras and 1500 plane trees.
On November 21, with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city in the scope of “First Green Marathon” in Nizami avenue and 28th May street tree planting works were carried out and generally 3500 trees were planted including 2000 pine trees, 1000 cypress trees and 500 plane trees in Nizami avenue and 28th May street.
On november 23, with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city in the scope of “First Green Marathon” in the direction of Gandja-Baku road tree planting actions were implemented and generally 2000 trees were planted, including 1500 plane trees, 500 pine trees.
On november 24-25, with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city in the scope of “First Green Marathon” in the direction of Gandja-Baku road tree planting actions were implemented and generally 3200 trees were planted including 2000 plane trees, 1000 pine trees, 200 liandras.
On november 26, with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city in the scope of “First Green Marathon” tree planting actions were implemented and generally 3500 trees were planted including 1000 plane trees, 2500 pine trees in the Heydar Aliyev Park Complex.
On november 28, with the organization of Executive Body of Gandja city in the scope of “First Green Marathon” tree planting actions were implemented and generally 2500 trees were planted including 2000 pine trees and 500 liandras in the Heydar Aliyev Park Complex.
On December22-23, during daily tree planting actions, held in the scope of “First Green Marathon” with the organization of Executive Body of Ganja city, in Heydar Aliyev Park Complex 10000 trees, including 1000 liandra, 2000 plane and 7000 pine trees were planted.
In March 28, in the scope of "Green Marathon" 1950 trees including 150 eldar pine and 450 Khan plane trees, were planted in the area of Heydar ALiyev Park Complex and the sides of Airport Road in Ganja.
In March 29, in the scope of "Green Marathon" 1000 trees including 550 eldar pine and 450 fruit trees, were planted in the area of Heydar Aliyev Park Complex and around the settlement for internally displaced people.
Within "Green Marathon" 16000 trees were planted in Ganja city, April 4.
