Sumgait city joined the first nationwide Green Marathon project that was launched on 5th of November 2014.

On november 5-21, with the organization of Executive Body of Sumgait city” during regularly held tree planting actions in the scope of “First Green Marathon” in 26-52th km of Baku-Quba road 25900 local tree species and a number of decorative shrubs were planted. 20000 of planted trees are pomegranate trees
Within "Green Marathon" 8650 trees, including Eldar pine, cypress were planted in Sumgayit city, in April 4.
